Union Finance Ministry organized the traditional Halwa Ceremony 2021 ahead of Union budget at North Block in New Delhi.
For the first time ever in the history of independent India, budget will be paperless due to the pandemic. As budget will not be printed this year, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the official mobile app ‘Union Budget Mobile App‘ for easy and hassle-free access to official Budget 2021-22 documents for MPs and the general public.
Union Budget Mobile App – Top Features:
- ‘Union Budget Mobile App‘ offers easy and complete access of 14 Union Budget documents that include the Annual Financial Statement, also known as Budget, Demand for Grants (DG), Finance Bill, etc. as prescribed by the Constitution.
- The App has a user-friendly interface which is embedded with various features like downloading, printing, search, zoom in and out, bidirectional scrolling, and more.
- The bilingual (English and Hindi) mobile app is developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the guidance of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA).
- Both Android and iOS users can access the app from the official Union Budget web portal (www.indiabudget.gov.in).
The union budget is all set to be presented on February 1, 2021 and after the completion of Budget Speech by the Finance Minister, all the Budget-related documents will be available on the mobile app. Lok Sabha 17th and current speaker Om Birla has announced that initial phase of the budget session will be held from January 29 till February 15 and the next phase will commence on March 8 and will last till April 8, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy has come to a standstill and many relief packages have been announced till now. However, different sectors of the sagging economy have set high hopes on the upcoming budget.
